About Eduardo Perez, LMHC

Eduardo E. Perez is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience. He has his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and his Master’s degree with Major in Counselor Education, specialization in Mental Health Degree from Florida Atlantic University. He has worked in residential behavioral and substance abuse programs for adolescents and adults, community-based therapy programs, psychiatric hospital and in-home services as well as group practices. He has provided therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Currently, Eduardo sees clients from the ages of 10- 60. Eduardo has been a clinical supervisor, consultant and program coordinator. Eduardo’s services have included individual, family and group therapy addressing issues such as adjustment issues, behavioral problems, attention deficit, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiance, co-occurring disorders, suicidal ideation and self- injurious behaviors. He believes in a client directed approach for therapy with the focus on developing a healthy therapeutic alliance. Having been trained in The Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS); an evidenced based practice; the client’s voice and choice in treatment is privileged and it is utilized in collaboration with the therapist to successfully achieve the client’s therapeutic change. Therapeutic change is developed through understanding the client’s goals, the client’s view of the therapeutic relationship and understanding the client’s theory of change.

Being bilingual, English and Spanish, Eduardo uses the client’s preferred language for therapeutic services. Eduardo uses an eclectic approach with clients based on their preference, including but not limited to Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interview, Brief Behavioral Focused Therapy and Solution Focus.
