About Kara Hardesty, LCSW

Hi, my name is Kara Hardesty, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
(LCSW). I have been a therapist for six years since I went graduated from
the University of Kentucky in 2016 with my MSW. I received my
undergraduate degree in 1997 from the University of South Carolina. My
therapy services include Evidenced Based Treatments including, Solution
Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing
and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach to therapy is solution
focused and the importance of living in the present and focusing on the
future. As a therapist I could help you identify your strengths and how
you can use your strengths to work on goals toward obtaining the things
you want out of life. My experience includes a wide variety of ages, but I
specialize in older adolescents, adults, and seniors. My experience
includes providing in-home therapy for a residential facility for severely
mentally ill clients, in-home and in-school therapy for children, in home
therapy for adults, and tele-health and in-office therapy for all ages. I
enjoy working with a with a variety of ages which I believe helps me to
continue to learn and grow as a therapist. I am easy to talk to and
non-judgmental and believe that we all have the ability to make positive
changes to improve our mental health and lives. I am a mother of
21-year-old twin girls and a 5-year-old mutt dog. I am excited to partner
with you to help you identify areas of growth and focus. I will offer
objective observation and suggestions based on evidence and research.
