About Katie Henson, LMHC

Katie Henson, LMHC Katie Henson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida who has been practicing since 2019. She studied for her undergraduate degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University at the Orlando Campus. She completed her graduate internship through the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Troy University's Altamonte Springs campus where she completed her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Katie furthered her education as a Practicing Registered Intern with LifeStream Behavioral Center and continues to take continuing educations to enhance her knowledge as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Katie provides treatment from a person-centered and client-centered perspective. She believes that most clients understand or have a plan of what they want to receive from participating in therapy services. Katie believes that it is her responsibility to come alongside of the client regardless of age, circumstance, economic status, ethnic background, and religious background and allow them to fully express themselves and their experiences while she provides appropriate, empathetic, unconditional positive regard. With following this philosophy and treatment style, it may sometimes feel like there is slow progress, but lasting progress is the hope. Katie also makes it part of her process to provide an adequate treatment plan and progress sessions with those clients to assess current growth and progress. In her spare time, Katie enjoys running a weekend business with her husband for their reptile company, rescuing various reptiles and rehoming them. She also runs a small business to sell her crafts on an Etsy shop on a monthly basis.
