Kiara completed her masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. Kiara strives to create a nonjudgmental, therapeutic environment for her clients. Through a culturally aware and client-centered approach, she believes in providing a safe and supportive space, and meeting each of her clients where they are at. Kiara believes in taking the time to deeply understand her clients life experiences and backgrounds.
Kiara uses an integrative approach in her work. She incorporates psychodynamic therapy to explore her clients past experiences and understand how they influence present behaviors, and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) therapy in her work with clients to change maladaptive patterns of thinking that may be impacting everyday functioning. She uses motivating interviewing (MI) to enhance self-awareness, and encourage and promote the desired change of her clients.
