Dr. Maria Clapp is an experienced clinician in addictions, school counseling, and organizational development with a background in mood, anxiety, and substance abuse issues, as well as parenting and anger management.
Maria follows solution focused and cognitive behavioral approaches based on client centered philosophy. Maria listens and guides clients toward achieving the goals that they set for themselves, whether it is personal, or professional growth, self esteem, coping with trauma, or connecting with others.
Maria has coached high school students to find their voice, access and connect to opportunities and services. Maria has assisted adults and older adults dealing with professional pressures, loneliness, as well as parents and families dealing with language and socio-cultural barriers, navigating the educational system and accessing services for children with disabilities, relational conflict, and legal issues. Maria has also experience in developing and implementing educational and training programs in mental health and educational topics, in both English and Spanish.
